Come on out for an adventure that is scenic, historical and relaxing all wrapped into one. The small Wyoming community of Thermopolis boasts being the home of the World’s Largest Mineral Hot Springs and is not only abundant with history, it also offers our guests the opportunity to shake off the dust at the end of the day by relaxing in one of the mineral springs pools if desired.
This specific adventure has a few opportunities for our guests to choose from. The first option is our scenic, historical excursion that offers a combination of highway and dirt roads. This “trail” will take you to ghost towns, Petroglyphs, other stops where famous outlaws of the Wild West hid out or were arrested. Come see the towns, plains and areas where iconic characters such as Buffalo Bill Cody, Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid and other iconic personalities of the era called home. We may also have time to stop in at Wyoming Whiskey for a tour and a sample.
Our second option for guests that would like to get out and play around a bit in the hills while getting a better idea of what the early pioneers and settlers experienced will be able to traverse over the rolling hills, into the plains and through abandoned oil fields on this trail.
This will be a great route for our guests who may not want the extreme off-road experience but instead a fun day of off-roading with plenty of scenery and Wyoming beauty.
Finally, for those seeking a little more challenge, we have a couple of locations on private property that will allow those with well built rigs and some technical driving ability the opportunity to play around on the rocks in a setting that looks like it should be a cattle camp occupied by covered wagons instead of off-road enthusiasts!
For our guests who are looking for additional activities during their visit to Thermopolis can choose to take a day away from the trail and experience a half day fishing trip on the Bighorn River with a professional guide or perhaps a round of golf at the Legion Town and Country Club Golf Course. The other half of the day will be filled with admittance to the Dinosaur Museum, Hot Springs Pool or the Hot Springs County Museum & Cultural Center that is sure to leave an impression on those that take advantage of this unique opportunity! Additional fees apply for this activity option.
This adventure will be based in and around Thermopolis, Wyoming. Our guests who wish to take advantage of our “Gold Package” registration can relax in comfort knowing all reservations will be booked and that you will be staying within walking distance of the mineral spring’s pools.
