For those of you that prefer a fall adventure we hope you will join us for an adventure that is scenic, historical and relaxing all wrapped into one. The Hot Springs Fall Adventure is similar to the Hot Springs Adventure we hold in the spring; except it will be experienced during the colorful season change of early fall in Wyoming! This is one of the many reasons that make Wyoming great, the change of season brings out a multitude of colors and the temperatures are just right for a fall adventure.
“Wyomingites” from all around the state love heading over to the quaint community of Thermopolis because this is where the World’s Largest Mineral Hot Springs are. Not only is this area abundant with history, it also offers our guests the opportunity to shake off the cool morning air and the afternoon dust at the end of the day by relaxing in one of the mineral springs pools if desired. The sulfur smell of the mineral springs may seem a little strong at first, but that quickly dissipates as you sink into the warm, healing waters and let your body relax.
This specific adventure has a couple of avenues for our guests from simple day excursions that will start on the highway as we head to some of Wyoming’s other historic towns close by. Don’t worry though, this scenic tour will eventually get off of the pavement and deliver you to ghost towns, Petroglyphs, other historical stops where famous outlaws of the Wild West hid out, made their escapes while others were arrested. Come see the towns, plains and areas where iconic characters such as Buffalo Bill Cody, Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid and others of the era roamed the prairies of The Wild West.
Our guests that would like to get out and play around a bit in the hills while getting a better idea of what the early pioneers and settlers experienced will be able to traverse over the rolling hills, into the plains and through abandoned oil fields. This will be a great route for those who may not want the extreme off-road experience but instead a fun day of off-roading with plenty of scenery and Wyoming beauty.
For those folks seeking a little more adventure and challenge, we have a couple of locations on private property that will allow those with well built rigs and some technical driving ability the opportunity to play around on the rocks in a setting that looks like it could easily be a century ago in the middle of nowhere instead of just a short distance from Thermopolis.
Our guests who are looking for additional activities during their visit to Thermopolis can choose to take a day away from the trail and experience a half day guided fishing trip on the Bighorn River or perhaps a half day of Golf at the Legion Town and Country Club Golf Course. The other half of the day will be filled with admittance to the Dinosaur Museum, Hot Springs County Museum and Cultural Center that is sure to leave an impression on those that take advantage of this unique opportunity! Additional fees apply for this activity option.
This adventure will be based in and around Thermopolis, Wyoming. Our guests who wish to take advantage of our “Gold Package” registration can relax in comfort knowing all reservations will be booked and that you will be staying within walking distance of the mineral spring’s pools.
